My contributions to the DMD included community management, production tasks, infrastructure management, events management, and security.

On the community management side of things, I was responsible for managing community expectations, initiating positive and supportive conversations around platform updates, moderation, and policy, and creating content to inform and educate the community on upcoming changes.

In production tasks, I'd work with my lead on determining our project management scope, tasks, and progress on a quarterly scale. This often included initiatives for research, events, and infrastructural updates that required cross-collaboration with other teams and departments such as Trust and Safety, Legal, Policy, and CX.
One of my main roles was to focus on founding operational infrastructure and improving existing infrastructure. To this end, I reviewed existing infrastructure to determine weaknesses, pain points, and opportunities for improvements. Across the year, certain processes were deprecated, divested, or operationally transferred to teams in CX and T&S while others were improved for more efficiency and accessibility. Processes were implemented for new and existing infrastructure to be monitored for sentiment and efficacy on a quarterly basis.
The DMD was home to many events both within my team and in collaboration with teams for Product, Community Marketing, Trust and Safety, and Engineering. Along with my team, I helped to create, support, and moderate these events. Events included product demonstrations where I would host Q&As with engineers and PMs, office hours where my teammates and I would answer complex and detailed moderation and policy questions, and product launch events.
I was also responsible for the safety and security of the DMD and its users. Threats, intrusions, and severe reports would be escalated to me for investigation. These investigations would often include known bad actors involved in extensive and/or severe cybercrime. These investigations would either be fully handled by myself or escalated into a larger, coordinated effort that could consist of Trust and Safety, Legal, and/or Corporate Security members.
